Dr Jim Mather

Appointed to the Board in 2018, Jim has held Chief Executive roles at Te Wānanga o Aotearoa, Māori Television, and the Pacific Business Trust and is also the Chair of the Health and Safety Committee.

Having completed a PhD in Māori Economic Development, Jim also has a Master of Business Administration from the Henley Business School in England and a Bachelor of Business Studies. 

Jim is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Fellow of the NZ Institute of Directors. He also founded a specialist Māori development consultancy in 2018.

Samantha Barrington Prowse

Sam Barrington Prowse brings a wealth of experience in legal, governance, and senior leadership roles. As General Counsel at Todd Corporation, she is a key member of executive teams and frequently engages with boards, leveraging her strong commercial acumen and legal expertise.

Sam is of mixed NZ Māori, Chinese, and European whakapapa. Sam currently resides in Te Whanganui-a-tara  but has strong family roots in Whakatane, Kawerau and Te Teko.

A dedicated advocate for wāhine, Sam has served on the board of trustees for the Lower Hutt Women Centre and currently chairs the Women in Todd Committee, promoting diversity and inclusion within the organization.

Dr Daniel Tulloch

Director

Daniel was appointed in 2023 and brings an extensive background in governance and consultancy experience, specialising in sustainable finance, ethical governance, and risk management. His academic credentials include a postdoctoral fellowship in sustainable finance from the University of Oxford and a PhD in Finance from the University of Otago.

Daniel is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Directors in New Zealand and demonstrates excellence in strategic planning and risk management across his various roles. His approach integrates financial acumen with cultural competency, shaped by his experience managing an ethnic-minority community organisation and his respect for Tikanga Māori.

Regan Studer

Appointed to the Board in 2023, Regan’s primary background has been in the agricultural sector where he has personal farming interests. Over the past ten years, he has worked as both trustee and advisor with many Māori land trusts and organisations.

He has a Master of Business Administration from Waikato University and a Bachelor of Business Management.

David Glover

Director

Appointed to the board in 2023, David is a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Directors with expertise in strategy development, business transformation, and brand marketing. He lives in Whakatāne.

He is a graduate of Cambridge University and has worked as a CEO and board director in the UK, Australia, Indonesia, and New Zealand.  He has led advertising agencies, a state-owned enterprise, a tertiary institution, and several entrepreneurial businesses. He has broad industry experience and connections across the commercial, not-for-profit and government sectors.

Tahana Tippett-Tapsell

Associate Director

Ngāti Awa, Ngāti Whakaue, Ngāti Pāoa, Tūwharetoa, Tainui

Tahana is a proud uri of the Te Tawera and Te Pahipoto Hapū of Ngāti Awa. He brings extensive experience in the investment and finance sector. He currently works for NZ Trade and Enterprise as an Investment Manager for the Māori Investment team, where he is responsible for originating and preparing Māori Entities (Iwi, Māori Trusts, and Māori companies) for investment, particularly new Greenfield investment, and connecting them to strong investment partners both internationally and domestically. He is passionate to help Māori entities accelerate collaborative action when exploring co investment opportunities and increase Māori participation in capital markets.

He is advocate for Te Reo Māori and strives to make commercial decisions by applying a Te Ao Māori lens. He has a business degree from AUT University and completed his post graduate studies at the University of California Berkeley. He recently completed the Harvard online business school leading with finance programme and is looking forward to contributing to his Ngāti Awa Iwi.
